Flamingo Fairy

My new doll is FLYLEEN the FLAMINGO FAIRY. She is a single stay at home mom who needed to work out some home business. So she decided to create the Fabulous Flamingo Fairy Farm. Since plastic flamingos are no longer made she decided to do them in fabric. You see her lawn model held lovely under her arm and she is also holding onto her new Flamingo walking stick. A cloth Flamingo head on a "cane".

She is a crafter so knit her skirt out of multi colored yarn, including some eyelash and glitter stuff. She beaded her shoes and added a big red button out of her button box. The lace she did too. Talented Lady no less. Her huge collar is made out of two bra cups. So she can also be considered a BRA DOLL.

The Bra Dolls

Thank you so much for taking the time to try and guess what all these dolls had in common. Many of you got it right off others had great ideas and you all had a neat time wondering what this is all about. All the dolls are in part made out of a BRA. I did this group with the idea of Cancer Awareness. Many doll clubs, quilt clubs, doll makers and just for fun-er have purchased the patterns to make them to help us all remember to Pay Attention to our own bodies and to be supportive of the Cancer Care Causes. Our doll club is doing a Workshop afterwards we are going to display the dolls to point out the Doll Makers interest in the Cancer Cause. Some groups are planning to do the dolls and auction them off for Cancer Research.

Purchase our Five BRA DOLL pattern. The pattern tells how I did the dolls and used the BRA. The pattern has a bunch of ideas, pattern for 5 different heads, and faces and body parts. How I incorporate a bra as part of a doll. Give it a shot. Your creative juices will flow and you will laugh and have a great time with this off the wall creation. Be as silly and creative as you want. There are no rules. If you want to do a workshop in your store or for your club give me a call we will work with you. Check our website for the BRA DOLL patterns.

What's Lester Up To Now

Now that Christmas is over Lester the Rester has lost his place on the Xmas Tree Top. He did not want to be packed away with the tree, so has gone for new locations to "rest". He pops onto the Janome and hangs out there until the machine is in use. Then he hangs out near by for company, support and a good laugh now and again. Check out the pattern on our website. You will want one of these jolly good humored fiber 'souls as part of your life. He will for sure make you laugh.

Making Special Gift

This year we had a blast doing a project for my sister and her husband. They had driven a 1946 Chevy Pickup truck from Oklahoma back to California where they live. My sis's husband had owned the truck a zillion years ago when he was in high school. They re-purchased the truck.

They took the old road Route 66 to make the trip, which was a wonderful adventure for them. They did the trip just a couple of months ago. The old 66 is not the same kind of road it use to be. It is pretty much a wild and wooly drive filled with old time sights of the once glorious old road. They had a blast.
OUR GIFT. Got photo of the truck, Doug did a map of Route 66. I scanned them both and turned them into a "picture". Printed it out on paper backed fabric. Removed paper back, Put picture on a pillow, knit braid which I felted in the microwave. Sew-d the braid around the picture on the pillow. Ahhhh a special memory pillow Christmas gift. We had so much fun doing it. They were delighted with the "memory pillow".
